3.2 Status, Roles, and Interactions

In 3.2 we looked at how the status you hold and the roles expected out of that status will impact who you interact with and how you interact with them.

We used the example that as a teacher, I have the roles of attending school, planning lessons, grading papers, lecturing, and going to meetings.    Because I have the master status of teacher, I interact primarily with teachers, administrators, secretaries, students, and coaches. My interactions with these other statuses are most commonly exchanges and cooperation.  I do not have a lot of conflict in my interactions because this is not expected of the status of teacher. I also do not have a lot of interactions with the status of criminal or politician because of my status as teacher and the roles expected of it.
